#UNIZIKDecides: Igwebuike Ikenna emerges SUG President

The elections into the executive positions of the Students Union Government (SUG) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka was held yesterday.
Our correspondent Dimson Emmanuel gathered that Students all turned out in their various faculties to cast their votes.
The end of the poll saw the emergence of Igwebuike Ikenna, a 300 level student of Micro Biology in the faculty of Bioscience as President of the union victorious with 666 votes while Queen Chikwendu from the department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts emerged the vice president with a total of 1,414 votes.
Churchill Chiagozie from the department of Applied Biochemistry emerged as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) with 895 votes while Iheukwuere Chinaza from Economics department won the post of Secretary General.
Oguejiofor Christian from Human Kinetics Department won the position of Director of Sports as Kirian Stanley from History and International Studies emerged the Director of Socials, as Nwachukwu Innocent from Accounting department became the Financial Secretary of the union.
Speaking to our correspondent, the newly elected president thanked God for a successful screening and election, promising to carry out all he had spelt out to do within his one year in office.
In the same vein, the newly elected PRO of the union, Churchill Chiagozie said his major aim is to furnish the students with information, making sure they are carried along. He further thanked all those who voted for him while encouraging other elected officials to utilize their offices for a better union.
