Like Davido, DJ Olu Was A ‘Rich Kid’ Who Found Joy In Music


Another day, another Davido friend’s death- as news came round that Olugbenga Abiodun aka DJ Olu died in his car on Saturday. That was just a few days after the controversial death of Tagbo Umeike, the associate of Davido’s who reportedly in the early hours of his birthday.

DJ Olu was the son of Ogun State politician and businessman Dapo Abiodun, a billionaire magnate who owns Heyden Petroleum among other investments.

 As a student of the University of Essex in the UK, Olu had an affinity for entertainment and soon started trying his hand out at deejaying. He met Davido at one their fathers’ parties and the two developed a friendship that thrived when OBO ventured into music.
