Drama as policemen protest in Kaduna

Aggrieved officers in the Kaduna command of the Nigeria police force on Monday protested the non-payment of their August and September salaries.

Some of those who were paid alleged that their salaries were incomplete.

The police officers, in their hundreds, staged the peaceful protest at the salary section of the command.

One of the officers, who spoke with TheCable, said in August and September, he was paid half salary without any explanation.

He said the payment was made through his bank account.

Another officer said while some of his colleagues were paid half salary, he did not receive anything and there was no any explanation.

“In August, some of our colleagues who were paid were shortchanged. Instead of being paid the full amount, they were paid half or less than half of their salaries,” he said.
