Senator Dino Melaye drags Kogi governor to court over LG
- Senator Dino Melaye has prayed Federal High Court to declare the constitution of caretaker committees for the 21 local government areas of Kogi state illegal - Melaye also, in his suit, prayed the court to make a declaration restraining Governor Yahaya Bello of the state and others from constituting any apointment.
- However Senator Melaye has tweeted a newspaper publication declaring why the governor should be impeached Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi west senatoria district has Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kongi state to Feral High Court sitting in Lokoja over non conduct of local government election. Lawmaker of the Kogi state house of Assembly others in the suit wanted the court to declare the constitution of caretaker committees for the 21 local government areas of the state illegal by the law of the land. Pulse reports that the suit was in support of 13 reliefs which include a declaration that the governor in pursuance of Section 56(1-6) Kogi state local government law 2008 could not appoint local government.
